Member Biographies

Marcia is our youth representative for this year's Parish Council. She is a sophomore at Churchville Chili High School , a member of the swim team, as well an active member of the music department and drama club. She is involved in many things at church including altar serving, cantoring and the youth bell choir, and attended the last NCYC in Columbus, Ohio with several other members of our parish Youth Group.

Beth is in her third year on the Pastoral Council. She and her husband, Mike, have been members of St. Vincent's for just over 13 years, joining when they moved to Churchville shortly before their daughter, Marcia was born. After moving to Scottsville 5 years ago, they remained members of St. Vincent's "Where everyone knows your name". She works at the University of Rochester as a Database Administrator.

Julie, who lives with her partner in Gates, has been regularly attending St. Vincent de Paul parish for over 4 years. Working in Catholic higher education for over a decade, Julie is currently the Director of Academic Information & Registrar at St. John Fisher College. She has done volunteer work with Hospice of Central New York and been an active lay homilist, parish council member and parish council president at the Church of St. Andrew the Apostle in Syracuse, NY and is a member of the Women's Ordination Conference.

Val, with her husband, Allyn, and children Tim, Nicole and Laura have been members of the St Vincent de Paul since 1986. She is employed by the Churchville-Chili School District as a Sr. Library Clerk at Churchville Elementary School. She has served as a Eucharistic Minister for 20 years.

Vicky has been a member of St. Vincent’s parish community since her family moved to Riga in 1973. Vicki has been involved in various aspects of Faith Formation for approximately 25 years and is currently a leader for Children’s Liturgy of the Word. She works in a small law office in Spencerport and together with her husband, Michael, they do their best to keep up with their children, Katrina and Timothy.

Jeanne, with her husband Matthew, and their daughters, Lissie and Christina, have been members of the parish since 1984. She has been the music director here at St. Vincent's for 14 years, and is a member of the liturgy committee.

Kathy, and her husband Larry are proud of their 2 daughters, Tori and Amy, now married to Tom Harper. Kathy is one of St. Vincent's two Faith Formation Coordinators and has been involved in Faith Formation ministry since 1979. Kathy's responsibilities include: Pre School, Elementary Faith Formation, Vacation Bible School, 1st Eucharist and 1st Reconciliation.

Mike has been a member of St. Vincent’s for seven years. Originally from Clifton Park in Saratoga County, he moved to the Rochester area after attending SUNY Buffalo where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and as Master of Science in Structural Engineering.

Beth, with her husband Jim, and children Tina and Jon, have been members of the parish for twenty-five years. Beth was a Spencerport art teacher for 30 years and after retiring is still very active in the arts. She is a member of the Chili Art Group and the Rochester Art Club. She enjoys participating in St. Vincent's Church Links group and is looking forward to working on Parish Council.

Pat, has been a member of St. Vincent’s since 1976. She and her husband Larry have three wonderful children - Pam, Kevin & Dan - and two terrific grandsons, David and Ryan. Pat directs our RCIA process, coordinates our Small Christian Communities (SCC), our 7&8th grade programs, bible study and adult programs as part of her duties as one of our parish Faith Formation coordinators.

Dan, is retired from service as a Navy Chief Operations Specialist, and as a special education teacher in California. He is active in volunteer work through the church and local Lion's Club. His journey of faith has taken him through many churches, culminating in his return to Catholicism. He loves to study scripture, the Adult Catechism, and to faith share with the many Catholics who truly understand what we believe.

Kate, has been a member of St. Vincent’s for over 40 years and has long served as sacristan and coordinator of our liturgical ministries. After retiring from Kodak, Kate took on the position of Parish Office Manager at St. Vincent's. In addition to this, she is a member of the Facilities & Finance Council, chairs the parish Liturgy Committee, is a choir member and cantor, and a CMA volunteer. She has one married daughter, Jessica, and two beautiful granddaughters, Emma Grace and Julia Annelise.

Anne is in her second year on the council. She grew up in Chili and became a resident of Churchville in 1996. She works as an insurance agent here in the village and is pleased to have the opportunity to serve St. Vincent’s in this capacity.

Joe and his wife, Lorrie, have been parishioners of St Vincent's since moving to Ogden in 1988. Joe is a trustee of the parish, a member of the Facilities & Finance Council and the Social Events Committee. He has served as our Catholic Ministries Appeal chair, has been active in the 5 Saints West Planning Group, and recently accompanied the youth group to NCYC in Columbus, OH. Joe especially enjoys asking his fellow parishioners for money(!), is extremely proud of his coffee-wenching ablities, and is very happy for his recently engaged daughter, Beth, who now resides in Seattle.

Ron, with his wife Carol, and their children, Joseph, Matthew, and Emily have been members of the parish since 1988. Ron is one of two Pre-Baptism Instructors, a member of the Social Events Committee, and a Eucharistic Minister. This will be my first year on the pastoral council and I'm looking forward to this wonderful opportunity of serving my parish community. Ron works for Carestream Health in Rochester.

Valerie Barnard
