Sacraments

Sacrament of Baptism:
Baptisms may be scheduled during one of the weekend liturgies or at noon on Sunday. Please contact Charlotte Bruney early with your request, preferably during pregnancy. Information regarding sponsors and required preparation will be sent to you in response.

Sacrament of Marriage:
Church law requires that Catholic weddings take place in either the parish of the bride or the groom. Exceptions may be made for a good reason. Couples wishing to be married at St. Vincent's should contact Charlotte Bruney at least six months prior to the anticipated wedding date.

Sacrament of Reconciliation:
Our parish comes together twice a year, during Advent and Lent, to celebrate this Sacrament communally. In addition, confessions are heard at 4:30 PM on the second Saturday of the month, and at 6 PM on the fourth Saturday of the month, or by making an appointment with our sacramental minister, Fr. Ted Auble.

Anointing of the Sick:
This Sacrament, administered to anyone feeling a need for healing, is also celebrated communally in the context of a weekend liturgy twice a year. Please call the parish office if there is a need to administer this Sacrament at home or in the hospital.

Pastoral Care of the Sick:
Our pastoral administrator regularly visits hospitalized parishioners if she is aware of thier admission. In addition, there is a group of parishioners called "Church Links" who visit and/or take communion to the homebound and those in nursing homes. If you are aware of a parishioner in such a situation, please let us know and we will arrange for a visit. If you are anticipating surgery and would like to be anointed, please speak to Charlotte or Fr. Ted before the weekend and we'll pray with you and your family after Mass for the Sacrament of the Sick.

R.C.I.A. (The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults):
Are you interested in learning more about the Catholic Church toward the end of possible becoming a Catholic? We will be glad to answer your questions, to pray with you, and to invite you to enter into a process to learn more about our faith.
Please contact our RCIA director, Pat VerWeire at pverweir@rochester.rr.com.
